When I come across stories like this, I cannot help but get upset.
Some would say this is harmless fun, but this is definitely not the case.
Sure, racist jokes are the norm these days. Everyone makes them – even I make them. But there is a time and place for this kind of stuff. A random employee of a pizza place to slip “lady chinky eyes” onto the receipt of an Asian girl customer is certainly not a situation I would deem appropriate.
I hope the employee who did this gets the appropriate disciplinary action. It is offensive from a business standpoint to pull a stunt like this toward a customer.
In all honesty, the employee who did this offensive action is lucky he/she did it against an Asian girl. For instance, if this receipt fiasco was done against a black person, there would be hell to pay.
Nonetheless, at the end of the day, one has to have some pride in their roots.
